Frequently Asked Questions
Do you require planning permission?
In most circumstances our replacement roof system does not require any planning permission. However, if you were to decide to make further changes to the structure of your building whilst getting your conservatory roof replaced, then planning permission may be required. We will be able to advise you of all of this when we discuss with you the unique roofing options we can offer
Will my conservatory be able to take the weight of the new roof?
Yes, all conservatories are designed to take the weight of a glass roof, and our roofing system is lighter than glass.
How much will it cost?
No two jobs are ever the same, so it is not possible to offer an accurate price without discussing your needs and requirements with you first. What we can assure is that we listen to our customer’s needs, discuss their requirements, find out their objective and then suggest the most cost-effective option.
How long does it take?
Each conservatory roof replacement is different, and it will depend on the level of work required for your specific job, but in most cases, we are able to complete the replacement roof work in just 3-5 days.
With over 50 years’ experience in the industry, at EverRoof we pride ourselves on being able to offer a personalised service, where we can provide several different options based on your budget, conservatory type and objectives to ensure you get exactly what you want. We are also able to ensure that the finish of your job is to the highest standard due to the fact all of our installers are experienced professional builders.
Do I get a guarantee?
Yes – All our replacement roofs come with a 10-year guarantee.
What does the inside finish look like?
The interior finish is treated white dry lining that is taped and feather edged, sanded down and emulsioned when completely dries
Will my conservatory be darker?
The short answer is NO!!
Most of our customers are concerned that their house will be much darker once they have replaced their conservatory roof. We’re able to give full guidance on why this will not be the case and also offer a variety of options to ensure that your house is still filled with light.
Can you ensure that the engineered wood used will be weather proof and not a fire risk?
The engineered wood we use is naturally resilient to aggressive chemical environments. It’s bonded with waterproof and weather resilient glue and is coated with a water-repellent surface treatment making it ideal for outdoor construction.
In terms of its resilience to fire, it’s fulfils the standard relating to BD-Constructions (fire resistance) set by the regulatory authorities within the construction industry.
This means it does not easily burn and a fire on a beam will go out by itself unless continually exposed to the flames. A carbonised layer then protects the beam from further destruction by protecting the core, which gives predictability and stability.
Engineered wood is stronger than structural steel on a par weight basis and has been used in the construction of motorway bridges, multi-storey car parks etc for over 60 years. It will not expand or contract, and is rot proof and bug proof
